Ajith starrer ‘Mankatha’ released today. Sun Pictures released it in association with Radhika Sarathkumar’s Raadan Pictures across Tamil Nadu.

It is Ajith's 50th film. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, it has music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Sources say the initial ticket bookings have been phenomenal. Long queues of Ajith fans thronged the cinema halls.

Venkat Prabhu said, “It is a boyish film and all has come good. Ajith plays a role with negative shades. Other actors, including Arjun, Trisha, Anjali, Lakshmi Rai, Premgi Amaran and Vaibhav, have given their best.’”

Meanwhile, the fans associations of the actor have planned mega celebrations across the State today to welcome Mankatha. “Since it is the 50th film of our Thala, it is nothing short of a Deepavli for us.”, Attagasam Murugan, a die-hard fan of Ajith at Ambattur, says.
