(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Matthew Fox has been accused of assaulting a woman.

The 45-year-old Lost actor was allegedly involved in an altercation in the early hours of Sunday morning with a female bus driver.

Cleveland Division of Police Public information Officer Melissa Dawson confirmed the actor was detained but not arrested over the incident.

"Victim states named suspect tried to board a private party bus that she was driving," the report states. "Victim got up from the driver's seat and blocked the entrance."

Matthew is then alleged to have punched the victim Heather Bormann "in the chest and stomach area".

Heather, 29, is said to have punched the actor in the mouth and cut his lip in what she claims was in self-defence.

The report also states that alcohol was not involved and Matthew was later "released to a friend and conveyed to his hotel via taxi."

Heather told TMZ that Matthew kept "staring at me with his mouth wide open and not saying anything."

"I took one hand to his jaw and he was spitting blood. He stumbled backwards," she claimed. "This was my self-defence. This was the only way I could protect myself from a man beating up on a woman."

Heather says she is meeting with prosecutors today and may press charges. Calls to Matthew's reps have not yet been returned.
