Even before the release of the biopic on the Indian Olympic Medalist Boxer Mary Kom, the film has been made tax-free in Maharashtra as well as Gujarat.
There are rumors that following the decision of these two states, the government of Uttar Pradesh too is considering doing the same. Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra who plays Mary Kom in the film is really excited with this news.
During one of her promotional events, the actress stated that she hopes to get UP Chief Minister’s consideration too. "I hope Akhileshji is considering making our film tax free. It will be really great if that happens. If Akhileshji thinks that our film is good and makes it tax-free in the state, then it work wonders for the film,” she said.
It was recently revealed that she trained herself for 3 months to perform her part on screen. Talking about the kind of training she takes for her films, the actress reveals that it is a norm that she follows for all her films.
"For me every film that I do requires a certain amount of homework, whether it's a film like Don where I had to learn martial arts or 'Barfi' where I had to get into the head of an autistic child, or even if it's a song like Ram Chahe Leela jahan dus din ki rehearsal hoti hai. So every film requires some homework and this film required three months of it. I needed to look like a boxer and I had to learn boxing. I had never played sports, so it was all very new to me - to learn the spirit of the game, learn its competitive spirit and I think that was my major training," she stated.
