Sooraj Barjatya's 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor proved to be a feast for Khan's fans. Released on Diwali the film has earned a whopping Rs. 40.35 crore on the first day.

Movie critics Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#PremRatanDhanPayo collects ₹ 40.35 cr on Day 1. Hindi version only... Tamil and Telugu biz being compiled... OUTSTANDING START!"

So far the film has received mixed reviews, despite of it the shows are housefull. Rajshri Productions' family entertainer enjoys a solo release at the box office.
