Russell Crowe house hunting in Australia

12th August 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Russell Crowe has been spotted inspecting a $20 million mansion in Sydney.

The 46-year-old actor and his wife Danielle Spencer were seen looking at one of the city’s most exclusive private residences last week. The six-bedroom chateau-style home in the pricey suburb of Woolahra currently belongs to Australian fashion designer Carla Zampatti and her husband John Spender, who split last year after 34 years of marriage.

Russell and Danielle are believed to be keen to find a “proper” family home in Sydney so their children, Charlie, six, and four-year-old Tennyson, have a “base” during their school years. The couple were reportedly keen on the mansion, and are seriously considering putting in an offer.

"A bloke in a suit showed them around the place which was having a bit of interior work being done to it and they seemed impressed," a source told Sydney Confidential.

"John has been toying with the idea to sell it and has had plenty of advice to do so, but he hasn't decided yet because there is so much family history there. John may be simply testing the market interest."

Russell’s spokesman has confirmed he is looking for a new home, saying the actor is keen to move out of his apartment on Woolloomooloo’s exclusive Finger Wharf because it has no garden and is constantly plagued by the paparazzi. (C) Cover Media
