(Cover) - EN Movies - Ryan Gosling is considering the lead role in Only God Forgives.

The actor is in negotiations to star in the new thriller, alongside Kristin Scott Thomas. If he does land the role he will reunite with director Nicolas Winding Refn the pair have worked together on Drive and Logan's Run.

Only God Forgives is set in Bangkok amid the worlds of boxing, gambling and prostitution. The revenge movie follows a retired Thai policeman and a disillusioned British gangster who is on the run and hiding in Thailand.

Luke Evans was originally set to star in the film, but was later forced to back out due to work commitments on The Hobbit.

Only God Forgives is scheduled to begin shooting in November and is slated for an autumn 2012 release date.

Ryan is also attached to bank robber movie The Place Beyond the Pines, co-starring Bradley Cooper. He can next be seen in Drive and the political drama The Ides of March, directed by George Clooney. (C) Cover Media
