Within 24 hours of the results for the elections held for Tamil Film Producers Council were announced, the new set of office bearers, led by president S A Chandrasekaran formally took charge at the office in Chennai on Monday evening.

Talking to journalists, SAC, who is the father of top actor Vijay, assured that he would join hands with other members of the association and work hard for the welfare of producers.

"There will be no discrimination and difference in the Council. The TFPC will introduce many schemes and projects for its members, which would make their lives bright. All the promises made before the polls will be fulfilled", he added.

SAC, who was so far the acting president of the Tamil Film Producers Council, was on Sunday elected as the president of the council at the end of the counting of votes polled earlier in the day.

Chandrasekaran had taken over as the president of TFPC in May this year, after the erstwhile chief Rama Narayanan resigned from the post following the DMK’s loss in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. However, fresh elections were conducted on Sunday after some members opposed SAC assuming the office 'Unilaterally'.
