Seann William Scott enters rehab

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Seann William Scott has entered a rehab facility.

The actor, who is best known for his role as Steve Stifler in the American Pie franchise, has checked into a centre for undisclosed reasons. It is not known where Scott is being treated or what triggered his decision to enrol in a rehab programme.

"Seann William Scott has voluntarily admitted himself for proactive treatment to address health and personal issues," his representative said in a statement. "He appreciates the support of his many fans at this time."

The 34-year-old actor was last seen on the big screen in 2010 comedy Cop Out, which also starred Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan.

He recently finished shooting Goon, in which he plays a guy who is recruited to play for a minor-league hockey team after he gets involved in a fight while defending his best friend. Goon also features Jay Baruchel, Liev Schreiber and Eugene Levy.

Last year, Scott revealed he had accepted he would always be remembered for his involvement in the risqu teen comedy series, American Pie. He also said he would be interested in reprising his role for a fourth instalment of the popular franchise.

"I did three of them," he said. "I had so much fun and loved the character, [but] I don't want to be known as that character forever. Now I'm realising that I probably will be known as that character forever." (C) Cover Media
