Suriya-starrer Singam is set to have a sequel. If sources are to be believed, director Hari is penning the script for the sequel, which too will have the same Suriya playing the lead role.
'After essaying the demanding role of Bodhidharman for 7aam Arivu, Suriya has deliberately moved on to a relatively less arduous mass masala script helmed by Hari, who is a past master of the genre. The film will hit the floors soon,' sources say.
Amala Paul, who is currently having a good run in Kollywood, is expected to be the female lead of the film. 'The story will start where Singam ended. It will deal with the protagonist's hunt for smugglers who use the coastal line in Tuticorin for their business activities,' sources further tell us.
'A top production house has evinced interest to fund the project. However, it may be Suriya's cousin K E Gnanavelraja of Studio Green who would produce the movie, as he was the active brain behind Singam though the film was later sold to Sun Pictures,' they add.
