Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan has been honoured with Global Diversity Award 2014 by the British Parliament for his phenomenal work and contribution to Indian cinema. House of Commons speaker John Bercow presented the award to the actor on Saturday.
Bercow said, "He has already featured in several films and won 14 Filmfare awards out of 30 he was nominated including eight best actor awards. He is also active in the fields of charity, particularly helping women who have suffered acid attacks."
The actor described this award as a 'Big Honour'
"Now (in) parliament to receive the Global Diversity Award... Humbled and grateful. Thank you," SRK tweeted before the ceremony.
"Proud of you... so very proud, for being bestowed the Global Diversity Award," Boman Irani tweeted.
Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hollywood actor Jackie Chan were the former recipients of this award.
