(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Taylor Armstrong reportedly did not report her abuse to police to try and protect her daughter.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star claims she was abused in the past by her late husband Russell Armstrong who was found dead a week ago after committing suicide.

Taylor had filed for divorce from Russell last month claiming that he had ill-treated her.

RadarOnline are reporting that she kept the alleged abuse from authorities in a bid to keep it away from their five-year-old daughter.

"She told me she was trying to protect Kennedy," a source told the site about the reality star's decision not to file a police report following an alleged altercation in June that left her needing hospital treatment.

Taylor apparently needed reconstructive surgery on her right eye socket to repair the damage.

But because she was afraid of how the negative publicity would affect her young child, she made the decision not to contact the police.

"She said that she didn't want Kennedy to know and she knew Russell would never harm their daughter," the insider added.

"Kennedy would hear them yelling behind closed door but she didn't witness any violence."

Russell's memorial service is being held this Wednesday at the Church of the Hills at Forest Lawn in Hollywood and is being organised by Taylor. (C) Cover Media
