Superstar Upendra is finally working in the film that was kept on hold for the last four years. The film 'Godfather' is an ambitious project for everyone involved in it. In this film, Upendra will be seen in a triple role for the second time in his career after the film 'Hollywood'. The toughest ones for him were 'Raktha Kanneeru and Anatharu', as he found it difficult in switching roles again and again.

The film is directed by Sriram, who was apprehensive about directing Upendra in this film. Sriram is the national award winning director for 'Blind Fold' and has 10 films to his credit. Upendra has three leading ladies in the film namely Soundaraya Jayamala – daughter of Dr Jayamala, Simran and Bhumika.

The film is a remake of Tamil Film 'Varalaru' and is produced by the renowned film producer K Manju, who has created an enormous set worth Rs.25 lakhs at Abbainaidu Studio. The set is designed under the art direction of Vasudevan and Ismail. The shooting of the film will be held in Bangalore, Mysore and Madikeri, whereas the songs will be shot abroad.
