Will Ferrell wants more villainous roles

7th December 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Will Ferrell wishes he could have played the bad guy in more movies.

The 43-year-old comic actor is one of the worlds best loved stars, having made audiences laugh in movies such as Elf, Anchorman, Blades of Glory and The Other Guys.

Will regrets the fact he nearly always plays lovable losers though, and wishes he could land a role which would allow him to embrace his inner dark side. The talented actor thinks the closest hes ever come to playing a villain was portraying Mustafa, Dr. Evils sidekick, in the first and second films in the Austin Powers comedy franchise.

I havent got to do it too many times. Mustafa was evil, but he was a henchman and he didnt last too long, Will lamented in an interview with Empire magazine. We didnt get to see his full evil powers at work.

The actor was more enthusiastic about his role in Megamind, the animated movie about a super-villain who finds life becomes pointless after he defeats his nemesis, the hero Metro Man.

Will provided the voice for title character Megamind, an apparent villain who then shows his softer side, which he really appreciated.

But Megamind was fun hes this menacing looking guy, but then you find out hes just a sweetheart and he wants to be loved, gushed Will. (C) Cover Media
