Winehouse fashion line may go on sale

27th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Fred Perry could release three posthumous collections by Amy Winehouse, as it is revealed the designs were completed before her death.

The British songstress tragically passed away on Saturday after a long and highly-publicised battle with drinks and drugs.

Amy had been working closely with the British fashion company on a series of designs, and had already put out two successful clothing collections for the brand. The troubled 27-year-old told Harpers Bazaar last October that three more collections of the Fred Perry x Amy Winehouse line had been completed and were ready to hit shops.

"We've pretty much done like up to Autumn/Winter 2012, and I'm like, Have we?' Yeah!" she said.

It has now been revealed that Fred Perry could release the three lines following Amy's death. The company revealed to fashionista.com that the collection is "on hold until we speak with Amy's family and management" and they are unable to comment further until then.

Amy's collaboration with the popular British clothing brand began last year with an Autumn 2010 collection. Richard Martin, Fred Perry's marketing director said last March that the late singer's style was perfect for the company's image.

"Amy has a unique sense of style that reflects the brand's own historical reference points," he told WWD. "Amy gave crucial input on proportion, colour and fit. The range clearly has Amy's handwriting." (C) Cover Media
