Sizzling and sumptuous that she is, actress Chitrangada Singh turns 37 today. The woman with a splendid personality is not only a beautiful actress, but also a lovely wife and a doting mother.

Chitrangada was never a part of the film industry, in fact, she was born to an army officer in Meerut. Her brother is a golfer and she too is very familiar with sports.

After completing her education, Chitrangada moved to Delhi and started a career in modelling. She was seen in the ICICI Bank and Alukkas Jewellery adverts. She also starred in a music video, which was Gulzar's 'Sunset Point'.

It was another music video where director Sudhir Mishra spotted her and offered her the lead in 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi'.

In her debut performance, many of them told her that she resembles actress Smita Patil. Thus, there was no looking back. She then did films like 'Yeh Saali Zindagi', 'Desi Boyz', 'Inkaar' and 'I, Me Aur Main'. She has also won a Bollywood Movie Award for Best Female Debut and the Young Women Achiever Award by FICCI (2009).

She also rocked in an item number in 'Joker' where she looked simply ravishing in a nauvari saree.

Married to a golfer, Chitrangada and her husband have a son named Zorawar.
