(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Zooey Deschanel used a classic fairytale as inspiration for her new movie.
The 31-year-old American actress has starred in hit movies such as Elf, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and (500) Days of Summer.
Zooey will appear in upcoming comedy fantasy Your Highness, alongside Natalie Portman and James Franco, and she admits she used 1987 classic fairytale The Princess Bride as reference for her character. The brunette beauty plays the role of Belladonna in the film the bride-to-be of Prince Fabious who is kidnapped by an evil wizard.
Ive seen Excalibur and stuff like that, but my references were more like The Princess Bride. I was like, This is a dirty Princess Bride! she told Total Film magazine.
The actress was thrilled to be working alongside the films director David Gordon Green and writer Danny McBride. Zooey collaborated with the pair earlier on in her career and they had a great working relationship.
David and Danny are old friends of mine, I worked with them both on All The Real Girls, back when we were all like indie, doing long, slow romance movies. I had such a great time working with those guys I would have just showed up wherever they wanted me to, she added. (C) Cover Media
