Shankar's directorial '2.0' starring Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth in the lead was in the talks for quite a long now. After postponing the release date several times due to VFX editing, the makers are now out with its official trailer and we are in for a treat.
The teaser of 2.0's trailer begins with all the cell phones being pulled away by an unknown forces, gathering in the sky and it is Dr Richards aka Akshay Kumar behind the mess as he appears in his eerie avatar to warn the humans what they will pay for. While D.R Vaseegaran reboots his Robot Chitti and we do have his 2.0 advanced version to deal with the mess. A humongous robotic fight and the vulture in flames to catch Chitti are some picturesque VFX sequences a joy to the eye. Click here to watch 2.0 Official trailer.
The film is a sequel to Shankar's 2010 film Enthiran. This Rajinikanth and Akshay film is an end product of 25 VFX studios worldwide, 2150 VFX shots, 1000 complex VFX shots, 1000 VFX artists, 10 concept artists 25 3D designers, 500 craftsmen, 3,000 technicians and more. No wonder 2.0 is one of Asia's most expensive film with a reported budget of Rs. 500 crore.
Speaking about his role Akki said to a leading daily, "I've never done a role like this in my entire career. And, I've never seen anyone doing a character like this. It was a whole new experience to play the role of an anti-hero."
