Trouble mounts for veteran actor Alok Nath who has been accused of Vinita Nanda of raping her 19 years ago. Oshiwara police station has registered an FIR against the actor by Vinita. Nanda spoke about the incident in a long Facebook post and later on a written complaint was submitted to the police. Police recorded her statement on October 26.
A police official investigating the matter said,"The victim had approached the police, and her allegations in the were serious. After primary investigations, the FIR was registered against the suspect on Tuesday under sections 376 (1) and 377 of the IPC."
Following the allegations, Alok Nath was earlier expelled from The Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA)
Additional Commissioner of Police, West Region, Manojkumar Sharma confirmed an FIR was registered against Alok Nath. In her statement to police, Vinita Nanda said two witnesses visited her house after she was allegedly raped, her trainer and domestic help. "I hadn't just been raped, I was taken to my own house and had been brutalized." she wrote on Facebook. While Alok Nath's lawyer, Ashok Saraogi, said, "We will be moving a petition before the Bombay High Court to quash the FIR."
