(Cover) - EN Showbiz - 50 Cent is adamant that as soon as he stars in a big budget movie, people will take him seriously as an actor.

The American rapper burst onto the music scene with his debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin' in 2003, which spawned such hits as In da Club, 21 Questions and P.I.M.P. He has gone on to achieve worldwide success with his subsequent releases, and also has his own production company called Cheetah Vision Films.

50 is now focusing his attention on movies, having already in appeared in a number of films such as 13, Dead Man Running and Righteous Kill. His company produced 2010s Twelve, which starred Chace Crawford, and he is sure he can produce more of the same. The star says the key is to work with good directors and give movies his all.

With each individual project, I work with someone that makes sure I'm completely prepared for it," he said. "I feel like I'm growing. When the projects get bigger and better, the public will start to shift and treat [it] like anyone else's progress.

In order to boost his acting career, 50 has been attending the annual Sundance Film Festival, which kicked off last week. He is in awe of many of the people hes seen at the event, and still cant believe he is actually there.

The first time I came here, I was here as additional talent. Music. Now, to be here, to actually be a part of the filmmaking process, is great, he told MTV. (C) Cover Media
