(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dannii Minogue has had to undergo emergency surgery after falling ill with appendicitis.

The X Factor judge was diagnosed with acute appendicitis after suffering from crippling stomach pains over the weekend.

The Australian star was operated on two hours after being taken to hospital.

Following the surgery, she was under 24-hour observation before being released from medical care today.

The mother-of-one is now recovering at her West London home with long-term partner Kris Smith by her side.

Dannii was taken into hospital on Saturday with pains in her stomach. She was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and had an emergency operation to remove her appendix, a spokesperson told British newspaper The Daily Mail. She is now convalescing.
