Kannada film actor Darshan was arrested in Bengaluru early today for allegedly assaulting his wife Vijayalakshmi.

Darshan, who is popularly known as 'Challenging Star', has been arrested by the personnel of Vijayanagar police station for assaulting and threatening his wife, Vijayalaksmi, with a revolver.

On Friday morning, based on a written complaint filed by Vijayalaxmi, policemen arrested the actor. He is currently being interrogated.

The actor went to the house of Vijayalakshmi's friend Vidya with whom she was staying. He demanded that his wife return to his residence in Raja Rajeshwari Nagar and assaulted her, it is said.
