Members of Tamil Film Directors Association have received a circular from the 'Sangam', asking them to donate at least Rs 10,000/- per film to help aged and ailing members.

S P Jananathan, who recently took charge as the treasurer of the association, said, "We have many plans to reach out to the members who are in need of help. So we are requesting directors to join hands with us." Saying that director A L Vijay had already donated Rs 25,000/- from the remuneration he had received for making ‘Deivathirumagal’, Jananathan said he expects many more members to follow suit.

"We also have plans to construct a building for the association. Since we are running short of funds to implement all these projects, we are expecting help from our members. There are directors who are in a position to donate lakhs," he added.
