Eva Longoria inspired by parents

23rd August 2012

Eva Longoria has always known she could do "anything".

The actress reveals the encouragement she received from her parents when she was growing up has remained with her throughout her life.

Desperate Housewives star Eva says her mom and dad helped her develop strong morals and good manners. The 37-year-old also believes that having a sibling with developmental disabilities inspired her to make the most of life.

"Ever since I was a little kid, my parents made sure I knew I could do anything if I worked hard," Eva explained in a political campaign video. "My sister Lisa who faced obstacles growing up with special needs, taught me to be courageous and compassionate."

Eva is passionate about supporting US President Barack Obama in his re-election campaign. She has explained why the campaign is so important to her. His message strikes a nerve with everything the Hollywood actress believes in.

"I try to live my life day to day and this is what I see in everything President Obama does," Eva continued. "Whether he's fighting for affordable healthcare and access to education, or supporting small businesses in the Hispanic community, over the last three years he's worked to reform our immigration system, to give everyone a fair shot at the American Dream."
