(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ewan McGregor had so much fun filming a sex scene with Christian Bale that he didn't realise the film crew had already "packed up".

The Scottish-born actor who raises four children with his wife Eve Mavrakis - appeared in the steamy sequence with his co-star for the 1998 movie Velvet Goldmine. Although he was initially worried about the scene, Ewan soon began to enjoy himself and the pair got so carried away that they forgot they were being filmed.

In fact, Ewan has joked that the passion between him and Christian was so convincing that members of the crew decided to give them some time alone and stopped the cameras rolling.

"That was fun. It was great! We were really going for it and then I realised the film crew had already packed up! I think they thought it was a sensitive thing and they should leave us to it," Ewan quipped in an interview for The Graham Norton Show.

Ewan went on to reveal he is less enthusiastic about love scenes since he turned 40 earlier this year. Even though he is widely considered to be one of the hottest actors in Hollywood, Ewan finds it "tricky" to strip off and canoodle with a beautiful co-star.

"I don't like them very much," he replied when asked about sex scenes. "It's tricky. They are awkward because it is a strange and bizarre thing to be doing. It's not a normal situation; I am 40 now, and the actresses get younger and younger. I don't like gratuitous, Hollywood type, sweaty sex scenes they are embarrassing to watch and to do."
