Florence Welch felt like she was a "gladiator" while on tour with U2.
The British singer was the support act for the Irish rock band during some dates of their 360 Degree series of shows.
Since then many people have asked Florence if U2's lead singer Bono spoke to her about her career. He is famous for giving rising stars advice, but she wasn't aware he was doing so.
"I've heard about this talk. He was really nice and spoke about how the sound on these big stages can be funny but you get used to it. Which didn't feel like The Talk," she mused. "We were playing in the round so it felt like being a gladiator. Like a battle in the Coliseum. Like slaying lions in yards of chiffon."
Florence + the Machine's latest album is called Ceremonials. The singer's haunting vocals have become a hit with young people the world over, while her decision to a pen a track for Twilight movie Eclipse's soundtrack won her even more admirers.
"I'm the soundtrack to a spook generation!" she laughed to Q magazine. "Apocalyptic-pop. Well, it's a strange time. There's all this friction everywhere and it feels like we're on the edge of something. So it's exciting."
