(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jennifer Lopez is "motivated and inspired" to push the boundaries in her career by artists like Lady Gaga.
Fellow entertainers fuel Jennifer's fire to be creatively progressive. The influence of Jennifer's peers and colleagues in the industry brings out the overachiever in her.
"I'm always motivated by other artists and inspired by them," Jennifer told MTV News. "They inspire me because when I see other people doing great things, it makes me want to do great things too."
One of the most inspiriting artists in Jennifer's book is Gaga. The two singers had the opportunity to collaborate together on a couple songs off Jennifer's new album Love. Jennifer had an affinity for Gaga before composing Hypnotico and Invading My Mind, but after the tracks were cut her admiration intensified.
"I love her sense of lyric and melody, I feel like she's very interesting. It's just not something you're gonna hear everyday," said Jennifer. "I really love the records she worked on and was glad to be able to take those and make them my own and actually have that collaboration with her. I feel very lucky to have done that."
Lady Gaga might be influential, but Jennifer is not going to copy her style. The singer-and-actress is dedicated to presenting her own voice and is not planning on forfeiting her uniqueness because of what another artist is doing.
"I never am one to look at other people and try to do what they do. I always feel like a true artist does what they do and it is very, very individual to who they are. You can't copy or do anything like that it just becomes weird but if you're true to yourself and push your own boundaries and your limits, you can't help but come out with something great," she explained.
