K. Balachandar to be honored

Veteran filmmaker K. Balachandar has churned out some of the biggest movies like Maro Charitra, Anthuleni Katha, Bomma Borusa and Rudra Veena that are still ennobled as the evergreen classics. The filmmaker-producer will be now felicitated with the prestigious ANR Award that is given in the honor of veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Speaking on the tradition of honoring the high profiled personalities of film industry, Nageswara Rao says that they started honoring thespians from the year 2005 that includes Dev Anand, Shabana Azmi, Anjali Devi, Vyjayanthimala and Lata Mangeshkar. This year, it will be K. Balachandar bagging the award that includes a memento along with a cash prize of Rs. 4,00, 000. The award ceremony is scheduled at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad on January 11th.
