Kapil Sharma to debut with Abbas-Mustan

19th July 2014

Renowned stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma's anticipated Bollywood debut is making news with every new turn.

First, he was supposed to make his debut in YRF's 'Bank-Chor'. But both Kapil and the banner decided to end the agreement amicably for reasons best known to both the respective parties.

Later, it was reported that due to his recently developed goodwill with Salman Khan and family, he would debut in a Sohail Khan film. But there was no official announcement over the same.

And now comes the news that Kapil will not make his debut with either of the names mentioned above. Instead, he has been offered a film by Abbas-Mustan

The duo which is famous for making action thrillers is in mood to experiment and they want to give comedy a try. And hence when they had a perfect script for a situational comedy, they wasted no time in signing the best comedian of recent times.

If reports are to be believed, the film is a comedy of errors and is touted to be a situational comedy much on the lines of the kind of comedy Govinda was famous for.

The most interesting part of the script is that Kapil will be seen romancing five actresses on screen.

The shooting of the film is expected to begin by November as Kapil has announced to wrap up his show by September.

Though Kapil prefers to stay mum on the deal, Abbas confirmed that they will indeed work together. "We've had a few meetings with Kapil and talks are at an advanced stage. He's currently abroad and we are waiting for his return to finalise the deal. We now want to explore genres other than action-thrillers and comedy is one of them," he said.
