(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Katy Perry and Russell Brand reportedly spent Christmas Day apart because they had a "massive fight".

The married couple were planning to spend the festive season together in the UK with Russell's family. Instead Katy decided to fly to Hawaii with her friends.

According to Us Weekly the singer's Caribbean trip was a last minute decision.

"They had a massive fight," an insider said. "She was like, 'F**k you. I'm going to do my own thing.' Russell replied, 'Fine, f**k you too.'"

Photographs have since emerged of Katy looking trim in a bikini splashing around in the ocean not wearing her wedding ring.

Russell was snapped back in the UK with his mates in Cornwall.

The pair were married in October last year after a whirlwind romance. Recently divorce rumours have been circulating but both stars have denied the gossip.

"They haven't split up just yet, but things are not good," the source confirmed. "The fighting is getting worse. Katy doesn't think Russell respects her parents' Christian beliefs or her friends."

However, despite such damning reports the couple may still patch things up.

The duo are both known for their eccentric behaviour and things could change.

"The split may come soon," the source warned. "But they are both so dramatic and volatile, the relationship could become great again." (C) Cover Media
