The 54-year-old actress, who is best known for playing man-eater Samantha Jones in hit show Sex and the City, has recently been named as skincare brand Olays newest face.

The blonde beauty is thrilled to represent the company, and says that when it comes to her skin, theres no hiding her flaws.

"I have very white, English skin. It always broadcasts the truth. If I'm tired, it shows. If I'm embarrassed, it shows. And I rarely get a tan, so I sometimes spray tan to look healthy. But when I scrub myself clean at the end of a long work day, I can just hear my skin say, 'thank you!'" she told Style List.

The British-born star has revealed that a long career in show business has taught her to treat her skin with care. Kim says she is very aware of her skin weaknesses and is careful to avoid breakouts by using treatments.

"I think most of us are a mix of dry and oily areas through our face and body. My advice is to treat areas differently as needed, and not to box yourself up into only an 'oily' or 'dry' camp, because your skin may have more complex needs than that, she explained.

Kim has revealed that while her job requires her to nearly always look red-carpet ready, she enjoys wearing minimal make-up away from the spotlight. The actress has admitted however that she doesnt leave the house without curling her eyelashes.

"Don't ever take away my eyelash curler! I go nowhere without it, she gushed.

The stunning star says less is more when it comes to highlighting your beauty. She believes that lip liner, for example, looks too hard if applied incorrectly.

"I never wear lip liner all around my lips. If at all, I'll use it to lightly define the two peaks of my lips, which aren't perfectly even for most people. Anything more than that, and I think it looks hard. I think you should always aim to go softer and simpler, especially as you get older," she advised. (C) Cover Media
