(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Leonardo DiCaprio plans to have singing lessons for his new movie role.
The 36-year-old actor has had a hugely successful Hollywood career, although hes better known for his serious roles in thrillers such as Inception and Blood Diamond, meaning critics were rather surprised to hear hell be playing crooner Frank Sinatra in a biopic directed by Martin Scorsese.
Leonardo is looking forward to the challenge though, and admits he might need some training before hes ready to portray the iconic singer, who passed away in 1998.
I dont think Im a very good singer, he told British newspaper The Daily Express. Im prepared to have training.
Director Martin has worked with Leonardo on numerous occasions now, and thought the actor would be ideal for the role of Frank in the currently untitled film. Martin admires the way Leonardo is always prepared to learn new skills for a film and avoids being typecast.
Its always a blessing to work with Leo, he beamed. Whatever I ask him to do, he can handle it. The opportunity to work with him really keeps me interested in making movies. (C) Cover Media
