(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Leonardo DiCaprio has been named Hollywood's highest paid actor by Forbes magazine.
The 36-year-old Titanic star earned $77 million between May 2010 and May 2011.
He beat out last's year top earner Johnny Depp who fell to second place with earnings of $50 million in the same time period.
"DiCaprio always gets a healthy upfront fee to appear in movies," reports Forbes. "But with [Shutter Island and Inception], he also got a solid chunk of the profits."
In third place was Adam Sandler with $40 million, Will Smith came in at fourth place with $36 million and Tom Hanks rounded out the top five with pay cheques totalling $35 million.
Leonardo's earnings were more than double that of the highest paid female stars in Hollywood.
Sarah Jessica Parker and Angelina Jolie both earned around $30 million each for the same time period.
