Expectations are increasing day by day for Ajith's 50th film 'Mankatha'. The good news for fans of Ajith is that the much awaited film by Venkat Prabhu is at the finishing stage. The film has a huge star cast with Arjun, Vaibhav, Mahat Raghavendra, Premji, Andrea, Anjali, Lakshmi Rai, Subbu Panchu, Jayaprakash, Ashwin Kakumanu, Aravind Kakumanu, Aravind Akash, Sona Hayden, Kainaat Arora and Trisha playing the lead.

Dayanidhi Alagiri's Cloud Nine Movies makes sure of producing the film in a grand way. The hat-trick combo of Yuvan Shankar Raja & Venkat, are believed to have created magic once more. Sakthi Saravanan handles the camera with other leading technicians from the industry.

The major portions of the film are filmed in and around Mumbai. Venkat Prabhu has planned to shoot the climax scenes in Madurai and being the producer's own town, he had made all the necessary arrangements but all of a sudden; he shifted the base to Chennai, as it seems to be his favourite place. At present the shooting of the climax sequence has been completed and the entire crew is leaving for Hyderabad, to finish leftover patch work.
