The 40-year-old American singer has just released a new Christmas album entitled Merry Christmas II You, which is proving successful on the US billboard charts.

Mariah has collaborated with her mom, Patricia Carey, on two tracks and she has revealed that she may release a song with her in the near future.

Many people know that my mother is a trained opera singer, so I guess it was only a matter of time before we both got onto a record together, the singer told the British magazine Pride.

The voluptuous star is currently expecting her first child with husband Nick Cannon and the experience of pregnancy is inspiring her to get closer to her own mother in the recording studio.

Patricia currently sings on the choruses of O Come All Ye Faithful and Hallelujah Chorus on her second festive LP.
