Declaring a change from its earlier stand, the Tamil Film Producers Council on Wednesday said its members are ready to work with any new organisation formed to protect the interests of workers.
The original decision of the TFPC was that it would start a new union for workers, and producers should only work with members of that organisation.
However, speaking to reporters in Chennai on Wednesday, office bearers of the Producers Council, led by president S A Chandrasekaran, said anyone is welcome to start a new association of workers.
At the same time, the TFPC managers made clear that they are not ready to work with the members of Film Employees Federation of South India, popularly known as FEFSI. 'Because the office bearers of FEFSI are blackmailing producers instead of solving issues. They are really not concerned about the welfare of workers.'
