(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Sam Rockwell says he loves his Conviction co-star Hilary Swank so much he could punch her.

The 41-year-old actor appears opposite Hilary in the drama based on the true story of Betty Anne Waters, a working mother who went to law school in order to help her brother who had been wrongfully convicted of murder.

Hilary plays Betty Anne in the movie, with Sam portraying her brother Kenny, and the two stars got along very well together in the making of the thriller.

Sam initially teased that Hilary could be a diva on-set when asked about her by Talking Movies, but later confessed he actually has a huge amount of respect for the actress.

Shes always in my light, shes always me me me... Frappuccino, he joked.

No, no. Shes amazing. I wanna punch her I love her so much.

She is such a dedicated actress and I just love her work ethic. She really comes in there guns blazing. Shes formidable.

Hilarys character in the movie Betty Anne spent 18 years trying to exonerate her brother after he was sentenced to life imprisonment for a 1980 murder he didnt commit, and the actress says she hopes the film will encourage people to campaign for a fairer justice system.

I think this is gonna shine a pretty bright light on some things that need to be fixed, she explained.

The star admits films such as Conviction are the reason she chose to become an actress, as she wants to use her celebrity to help worthy causes. Hilary thinks anybody who sees the movie will be moved as it deals with such a serious issue and tells of an immense brother/sister bond.

This type of story is why Im an actor. You know, I love people stories and everyone has a story, and this is one of those that you carry forever in your heart, she gushed. (C) Cover Media
