Sarah Jessica Parker getting design tips from Jacobs

28th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Fashion - Sarah Jessica Parker has been taking design advice from Victoria Beckham and Marc Jacobs for her new clothing range.

The Sex And The City star has reportedly been working 15-hour days putting pen to paper to create her own collection. She was spotted at the recent London Fashion Week studiously taking notes on items that appeared on the catwalk.

The 45-year-old star is due to make her debut for American label Halston Heritage soon. She was named the labels chief creative officer earlier this year, but at the time it was unknown how hands on she would be when it came to creating pieces.

Sarah Jessica is really taking this seriously, a source told the British edition of Grazia magazine. She has been on the phone to all of her designer friends for advice people like Marc Jacobs and Victoria Beckham.

American designer Marc is currently creative director for the French design house Louis Vuitton, as well as having his own label, and his former designer Katie Hillier helped to produce handbags for Victoria Beckhams fifth fashion collection.

Sarah Jessica will be in good hands after the former Spice Girls show was ranked as one of the stand outs at New York Fashion Week earlier this month.

Shes been drawing endless sketches and asking everyone what they think, a source said of Sarah Jessica.

The mother-of-three has been working hard studying fashion while juggling her many responsibilities. She has spoken about how much she is enjoying her new role in the past, although admits the amount she has to learn is daunting.

It [designing clothes] is a wonderful, thrilling challenge, and theres a lot to draw on, and incredibly exciting archives, she told the American New York magazine.

[Learning about] profit margins, sourcing, what factories work where in all sorts of parts of the world, how soon we can get tiny sequins, can we get a real silk tuelle verses a blend? This is what Ive been learning about. (C) Cover Media
