Seann William Scott: I'm still friendly

7th April 2012

Seann William Scott says it's "ironic" that he was voted Most Friendly' at his high school.

The actor is currently promoting the latest movie in the American Pie franchise, American Reunion. For the film, he has reprised the role of Steve Stifler a womanising and foul-mouthed character. Sean finds it amusing that he was so popular at school but still managed to convincingly portray such a despicable character.

"In my high school yearbook I was voted Most Friendly', which is ironic considering the characters I've played in films," he told the May issue of UK magazine Glamour.

However, his popularity was tested after the success of American Pie. Some of his high school peers began to question his likeability after he had finished working on the movie.

"I was also voted Homecoming King but when I went back to my hometown after American Pie, some people who I'd known while I was growing up still had a hard time differentiating between reality and the film," he explained. "They were like, Was he always an asshole?' I was like, You guys voted for me as most friendly in high school. I'm still that guy!'"

Sean's co-star Eddie Kaye Thomas also found his school days tough. The actor who plays Finch in the American Pie movie series struggled to form friendships because his acting career took off at an early age.

"I didn't really have a normal' high school experience because I was filming a lot," he revealed. "When I was about 15 I was in a movie, A Kid in King Arthur's Court, with Kate Winslet and Daniel Craig. We filmed in England, and Kate actually took me for my first drink in a pub. She was amazing. Daniel was a lot less ripped than he is now."
