7th January 2019

The makers of Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar starrer 'Sonchiriya' have finally dropped the official trailer of the film, that gives away the deets from the time when Indira Gandhi declared Emergency in 1975 to 77. The trailer begins with the government asking the dacoits to surrender located in ghats of Chambal; where strict police officer Ashutosh Rana appears to clean the dacoits from Chambal. While Sushant Singh Rajput, Ranvir Shorey and Manoj Bajpayee are the rebels not willing to bow down and surrender. Bhumi is an addition to their team as a fearless woman walking along with her sister whose entry scene is not less than the dacoits and she is brave enough to protect herself. This war seems intense, so click here to watch Sonchiriya official trailer.

Set in the rustic backdrop of Chambal the ghats ruled by the dacoits is a major add-on but the film is graced with the music of Vishal Bhardwaj as background score.

Speaking about his film, director Abhishek Chaubey earlier told a news channel, "Bandits have been around for ages. They are criminals but it's a huge tradition, their society and life. There are so many layers to it. Why they were the way they were why they were bandits but they called themselves rebels so what was it that motivated them to live like that. It's a part of our history and culture and I’m really shocked that we're not telling more stories about them. In the West, it's an established genre which is still being explored."
