(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Thandie Newton enjoys watching Disney movies more than her children.
The British movie star, 38, has two daughters with director husband Ol Parker; Ripley, born in 2000, and Nico, born in 2004.
The actress admits that growing up she rarely had the chance to appreciate the magic of Disney cinema, although is making up for it in later life.
"Admittedly, I don't remember watching many Disney films as a kid, it's a world I've come to enjoy as an adult, almost MORE than my two children!" she laughed.
"My favourite has got to be The Princess and the Frog Raymond the glowbug cracks me up every time."
Thandie has been reflecting on Disney movies in aid of the Million Disney Memories campaign, which aims to help Britain's Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. The operation has a unique twist, with Disney fans encouraged to recount their favourite memories. When 1,000,000 memories have been received, Disney will donate 1 million to the charity.
Another celebrity to have shared her top Disney recollection is former Spice Girl Mel C. Mel used to be such a big fan of the company's animations she even tried eating her Mickey Mouse toy. Mel is mom to two-year-old daughter Scarlet Starr, and enjoys sharing classic Disney moments with the tot.
"I have really early memories of a Mickey Mouse toy that I had, it was a foamy rubber thing and I remember biting chunks out of it!" she laughed.
"But I think Disney is something that we've all grown up with and it's so nice now, being a parent, that my daughter can enjoy all the characters that I have enjoyed, so we share it together.
"In our house now, the most popular Disney films are all of them! The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, it's endless. I think we've got most of them and if not, we want them!" (C) Cover Media
