John Travolta reveals that movies help him "stay in shape."
The 57-year-old actor is in pique physical condition.
John believes his profession motivates him to remain robust.
"I wanted to get fit for the movie Killing Season because I play an ex-Serbian soldier, so I wanted to be in somewhat good shape," John told Extra at the Qantas Spirit of Australia party. "Movies always help me get in shape."
John remains active when he is not filming. He and his wife Kelly Preston play tennis together daily.
"Well, I still have the edge when Kelly and I play tennis," John explained. "I play six games a day and I lift weights for about an hour."
Interest in athletics runs in the family. John and Kelly's 14-month-old son Benjamin is already eager to join his parents in their sporting activities.
"He's walking, he's talking. He says, 'basketball,' " John gushed. "If you ask him, 'Who did it, Benjamin?' he says, 'I did it.' "
Killing Season is currently in production and will be released in 2014.
