Urvashi Sharma, who was last seen in the film 'Naqaab' opposite Akshaye Khanna and Bobby Deol is set to make her television debut. Urvashi was on a long sabbatical after she married actor- producer Sachiin Joshi. They also have a 2 and a half year old daughter named Samaira and Urvashi was busy enjoying her motherhood post her daughter's birth.

Now the actress will be seen in the upcoming television show 'Ek Maa Jo Lakhon Ke Liye Bani Amma' where she will be playing the titular role. According to a source when asked about her role, she said, "It's difficult to get such a dominant role in films, so when I got the opportunity on TV, I took it up. Also, TV is a big medium, so when this offer came to me, my husband and I discussed it and decided to go ahead."

She added, "It's about a woman who manages everything — her house, husband, kids, in-laws, etc. but finds herself alone with her child when the husband leaves her. Eventually, she not only fights for herself but others also and becomes a godmother."

The serial showcases the struggle of a single mother for survival post partition.
