Indian film industry lost one of its true stars on late Friday evening. Veteran director K.S.R.Das breathed his last in Apollo Hospital, Chennai. Aged 75, Das was admitted for age related ailments. 

Das was a pioneer of the South India Film Industry. He had directed more than 100 films in Tamil, Telgu, Malayalam and Kannada in his career. The man behind hit films like 'Kalla Kallu', 'Rowdy Rani', and the famous cowboy movie 'Mosagallaki Mosagadu' truly raised the bar of South India movies. 

He had directed superstars like NTR, Rajnikanth, Chiranjeevi and Shobhan Babu. Entire industry is in a state of shock and moans his death. "Doss sir`s death is a big tragedy in my life," expressed the prominent director D.Rajendra Babu. "He was always a producer`s director" said Dwarkarish who has made several movies in Tamil and Kannada.
