(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Hugh Jackman thought Sugar Ray Leonard would see him as "another dumb actor".

The Australian actor is playing Charlie Kenton in the boxing drama Real Steel. The science fiction movie is set in the year 2020, where robots have replaced humans in the boxing ring.

Hugh prepared for the action-packed role with former fighter Sugar Ray, who is now retired from boxing.

Hugh is known to show off his impressive physique in films, including Wolverine, and thought that Sugar Ray wouldn't take him seriously.

"I think [Sugar Ray] was expecting just another dumb actor," he told E! Online about training for the film. "I'd done some boxing. But he needed to chop me up."

Sugar Ray was impressed with his co-star. The boxing legend says Hugh had a great attitude throughout his training.

"Hugh wanted to show that he could do it and it takes concentration," he explained.

Sugar Ray joked about wanting one of the film's robots. The sporting star wishes he had one of the imposing machines since his fighting career ended.

"Not when I was boxing but now, more than ever," he teased. "I would use that robot for carpooling." (C) Cover Media
