(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jon Hamm is feeling nervous but excited about directing the season five Mad Men premiere.
The 40-year-old US actor is best known for portraying womanising ad executive Don Draper in the hit television series about the adventures of a 1960s advertising agency.
Season five of the show is scheduled to air in March next year, and it has been revealed that Jon will direct the opening episode.
As much as he's thrilled by the prospect of getting behind the camera, Jon admits the challenge is a little nerve-wracking too.
"The wheels have officially been set in motion to make that happen," he told TV Line.
"It's a very exciting challenge that I'm looking forward to with a mixture of utter fear and excitement."
Jon won't be the first castmember to try his hand at helming the show. Last season his co-star John Slattery, who plays Roger Sterling, directed an episode to huge success.
Other stars of the programme include Elisabeth Moss, January Jones and Christina Hendricks. (C) Cover Media
