(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Josh Duhamel has slammed speculation his wife Fergie has had plastic surgery, insisting shes just been experimenting with cosmetics.

The Black Eyed Peas star took to the stage on talent show American Idol with her band last week, but there was more speculation about her appearance than her performance. The 35-year-old was wearing a flowing white dress and had her hair loose around her shoulders, and many thought her face looked different.

There were rumours the singer could be pregnant or might have gone under the surgeons knife, but her actor husband Josh says theres actually a much simpler explanation.

Its amazing. You put a different colour on your lips and, uh, rumours fly, he laughed to Ryan Seacrest. But shes the same, shes the same Fergie I sleep right next to her every night. I like it.

Fergie was wearing a fuchsia-coloured stain on her lips while on stage, which was brighter than the usual hue she chooses.

Neither she nor Josh pay any attention to the comments which are made about them by others, with the 38-year-old saying he has encouraged Fergie to embrace her new look as he thinks it suits her.

I thought she looked amazing, he enthused.

Fergie and Josh began dating in 2004 and married in Malibu, California, in January 2009. A year later they renewed their wedding vows in Santa Barbara on the beach. (C) Cover Media
