Shatrughan's words of wisdom for actor MPs

19th August 2014

It comes as no surprise when any Bollywood actor decides to turn to politics at some stage of his/her career. It has been a phenomenon that has many stars as its followers.

But often there have been complaints from both the masses and the experts of the field that Bollywood stars seldom perform their responsibilities as constitutional authority.

Recently it was reported that BJP, a leading political party in India, has instructed it's star MPs and MLAs to go easy on glamour and their respective career as an entertainer. Though the party has denied this, there is a Bollywood star cum politician who believes in following a strict code of conduct.

Shatrughan Sinha, who has a long withstanding career in politics, claims that actors should always be careful in managing and balancing both their respective careers. "If actors are passionate about doing naach gaana, they should continue living that life; why contest elections and enter Parliament? It is okay to take up acting or do live shows once in a while, but it should not be done on a regular basis, because now, we are public figures in true sense. After seven years as a public servant, I have earned immense respect from society. Today, nobody asks me to mouth dialogues from my films like Kalicharan and Vishwanath. I get many film and television offers, but I chose to host just one TV show on deshbhakti,” said Shatrughan Sinha, the Lok Sabha MP from Patna, as a matter of fact.
