'Sui Dhaaga' trailer is battling unemployment with a smile

13th August 2018

The makers of Sui Dhaaga are out with its official trailer and we have Mauji aka Varun Dhawan a small town tailor facing exploitation and opting to leave the job surviving with the attempt of self-employment. It is his wife Mamta played by Anushka Sharma who plays a supportive and shy house-wife who urges her husband to start his own tailor service.

The trailer begins with Mauji explaining his chemistry with Mamta and how they do not get personal space in a joint-Hindu family. Anushka as Mamta becomes Mauji's true inspiration when he falls apart and is thrown out of his job. The innocent duo starts their own journey and becomes a small-town entrepreneur but it is the 'Made in China' stamp that irritates them even after their own hardwork.

The trailer indicates that the film is a piece of an intuitive cinema that would educate the masses to become self-employed and promote the Swadeshi - Made in India initiative as the film's title includes. Varun and Anushka's fresh chemistry is enduring and their characters are truly relatable and closer to real life working individuals from rural India.

It is Raghubir Yadav who plays Varun's on-screen father who burdens him with taunts and responsibilities. The film is a great attempt to promote handcraft and government's 'Make in India' initiative. Bankrolled by Maneesh Sharma, 'Sui Dhaaga' is slated to release on 28 September.
