Will Ferrell lands Office role

27th January 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Will Ferrell has landed a regular guest role on television show The Office.

The Hollywood funnyman will play a branch manager from the home office and proves to be just as incompetent as the main character Michael Scott. It is believed Ferrell will appear in four episodes of the series, which stars his Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy co-star Steve Carell.

The shows executive producer has promised fans they will see his raw sexuality when his scenes are aired later this year.

"We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star," said Paul Lieberstein. "We are proud to continue The Office's tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they'll see what we see: tremendous raw sexuality."

Ferrell and Carell are expected to feature in three episodes together, with Ferrell appearing in one episode after Carell leaves the show.

Last year, Carell announced he was quitting the hit programme and it has been reported he may depart before the finale of the current season.

Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight Schrute in The Office, took to his Twitter account to voice his delight at working with Ferrell soon after the news was announced yesterday.

"Yes it's true! Will Farrell is joining the Office 4 (at least) a 4 episode arc! Were psyched! (sic)," he wrote. (C) Cover Media
