Zac Efron has gushed about Taylor Swift calling her a "great teacher".

The two co-star in the new Dr. Seuss film, The Lorax, and it appears they also embarked on an extra-curricular activity with the country singer teaching the teen heartthrob how to play the guitar.

The LA Times reports that although the two are not dating they've been spending some quality time together making sweet music.

"She's a great teacher," Zac told the newspaper. "In the past, everyone who has tried to teach me guitar starts with music theory and stuff like that.

"I tend to just doze off after a little while. She went straight into songs. She taught me, like, four chords, and I'm already playing all the good campfire songs."

The Grammy-winner's character in the movie is romantically wooed by Zac's character but Taylor says she's not having such luck in her real dating life.

"Guys in my life I don't think I have a memory of [being impressed like] that. But that's good! The bar's really low," she said.
